Stainless Steel Boxes, Sterilization Drums and Baskets
Sterilization drums from 8 to 16 cm with a safety lock, stainless steel boxes numbered 0, 1 and 2 or with handles up to 36 cm, sterilization baskets in seven sizes and OCC Orolin immersion trays: these containers follow instruments from disinfection to storage. Size by instruments
The box should be longer than the longest instrument and tall enough that the lid does not press on the instrument handles. Boxes without handles are numbered: no. 0 for small kits, no. 1 and no. 2 for larger sets, up to 26 × 15 × 5 cm. Boxes with handles range from 18 × 8 × 4 cm to 36 × 19 × 6 cm and are easier to move when full. The stainless steel boxes are reusable, individually packed and non-sterile when purchased.
Drums and baskets for the autoclave
PRIMA sterilization drums, 8 × 8, 10 × 10, 12 × 12 and 16 × 16 cm, have a lid with a handle and an adjustable lock that keeps them from opening; their sheet allows only perforated, undeformed containers with a tightly closing lid in the autoclave. The stainless steel baskets, from 255 × 245 × 100 mm to 460 × 800 × 520 mm, are chosen by machine: compare the basket size with the inside dimensions of the sterilizer chamber given in its sheet.
Immersion trays for disinfection
OCC Orolin trays have a grid for draining the solution and a blue lid printed with the disinfectant's activity spectrum and contact time. Burbath, 150 ml (Ø 8 cm, 5 cm tall), has a capped opening in the lid so a bur can go into the solution without lifting the lid. Multisept Plus has a hinged lid, a stainless steel spot for a magnetic timer and fill marks inside: 500 ml and 1 l in the 1 l tray, and 1, 2 and 3 l in the 3 l tray. The concentrates are in medical instrument disinfectants.
Small containers
For burs and needles there is a plastic box with a sieve, Ø 9 cm and 8.2 cm tall, yellow or blue, and a round stainless steel box of Ø 4 cm. The white opaque polyethylene pharmacy jars with lids, 20, 30, 50, 100 and 150 ml, are for creams, ointments and samples: the 20 ml jar is 21.3 mm tall with the lid, and the 150 ml jar 80 mm. Can the plastic bur box go in the autoclave?
Yes. The Ø 9 cm box with a sieve is autoclavable and, according to its sheet, is also used for cold chemical sterilization by immersion. It comes in yellow or blue.
How do I use the Burbath tray without opening the lid?
The lid has a capped opening: the rotary instrument goes through it into the solution, while the main lid stays closed so the solution is not left uncovered.
What are the white pharmacy jars for?
For creams, ointments and samples, in pharmacies, beauty practices and laboratories. They are made of white opaque polyethylene, with a lid, from 20 to 150 ml.
