The radiation protection vest is designed to protect patients and medical staff against scattered X-rays from the front and back.

The product provides shielding for long periods of use, with optimal weight distribution between the shoulders and hips.

Technical specifications

  • Front shielding equivalent: 0.25 mm Pb (or 0.35 mm Pb, with a double equivalent of 0.50–0.70 mm at overlaps)
  • Back shielding equivalent: 0.25 mm Pb (or 0.35 mm Pb)
  • Fastening: three horizontal Velcro closures on the front
  • Shoulder padding
  • Weight optimally distributed between the shoulders and hips

Available sizes

  • S: 60 × 90 cm
  • M: 65 × 90 cm
  • L: 60 × 100 cm
  • XL: 75 × 110 cm

Directions for use

Storage: Use suitable hanging systems. Do not fold, do not hang over edges, and avoid proximity to heat sources. Do not store in a humid and warm environment.

Check before use: Inspect the vest for visible damage. Make sure the size is appropriate for uncompromised protection.

Cleaning and disinfection: Use a soft cloth and warm water; add soap if necessary. Let air-dry in clean air at room temperature. Do not immerse in water, do not machine wash and do not use bleaching agents. For disinfection, use non-phenolic and non-aldehyde agents (e.g. Terralin, Antisept, Wofasept). Always rinse with clean water after disinfection.

Periodic examination: The vest must be examined under X-ray at least once every 12 months to detect cracks or holes in the shielding layer. Examine at any time if in doubt about the integrity of the shielding.

Warnings and important information

  • Each RADPROM product has a label showing the type, size, lead equivalent, date of manufacture and serial number for traceability in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Service life varies depending on use and care.
  • Never use the vest if it shows obvious signs of damage, holes or cracks.
  • Replace the vest if: it shows physical damage, has tears or holes (detectable by observation or radiological testing), or the protective material has hardened due to migration of lead particles (uneven thickness will be noticeable in the upper or lower section).
  • Check local regulations regarding the safe and legal disposal of radiation protection equipment.
