UV-C germicidal lamps
The ALIP65 LED lamps emit at 265 nm and are 300, 600 or 1,200 mm long (10, 20 and 40 W); the stand version has 4 × 10 W, is 1.6 m tall and works over 360°. The 15 W Ultraviol NBV 15 NLW lamp emits at 253.7 nm, mounts on a wall or ceiling, has a timer and, according to its sheet, an effective area of 6–8 m². In healthcare facilities, the rules approved by Romanian Minister of Health Order no. 1761/2021 provide for UV disinfection of smooth surfaces and air as a complement to cleaning and chemical disinfection (art. 8).
Foggers
The H05 ULV has a 5 l tank and 9–49 µm droplets, Biospray works with 0.5 or 1 l cartridges and 7–20 µm particles, and the Klintensiv CUBE volumetric fogger comes in sizes S and M; the S version is designed for rooms of up to 300 m³. As a ready-to-use solution there is Oxidice Air b (Pliwa), with hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid, in 1 l and 5 l. Other fogging products are in airborne disinfectants.
Ultrasonic cleaning
The Euronda Eurosonic 4D has a 3.8 l stainless steel tank, 6 preset cycles and temperatures of 30–60 °C, while the Renfert Easyclean MD has a heated 2.7 l tank. The Renfert SYMPRO is a cleaning unit for dentures and orthodontic appliances.
Frequently asked questions
What protective measures do UV-C lamps require?
The ALIP65 lamp sheets forbid looking directly at a lamp that is on without special protection such as goggles and gloves. Install and use them according to the manufacturer's manual and installation instructions.
Do UV lamp operating hours have to be logged?
In healthcare facilities, yes: the rules approved by Romanian Minister of Health Order no. 1761/2021 (art. 8) require a daily log of the total operating hours of ultraviolet lamps.
What solution do I use in a fogger?
One made for fogging, such as Oxidice Air b (Pliwa), ready to use. Check the fogger's instructions for which products it accepts and how much to use for the room volume.
