The PRIMA absorbable hemostatic sponge is a sterile medical device made of neutral porcine gelatin, designed to control bleeding during surgical procedures. It is applied directly to bleeding surfaces when conventional methods of hemostasis are ineffective, difficult to apply or impractical.
