MicroSnap E.coli is a rapid test for the detection and enumeration of Escherichia coli, based on a bioluminogenic reaction.

The test measures the amount of light produced by enzymes secreted by E. coli in the presence of specific substrates, using the EnSure Touch luminometer. It is used for microbiological quality control in the laboratory and in the field.

Technical Specifications

  • Principle: bioluminogenic reaction between E. coli enzymes and specific substrates
  • Analysis time: under 8 hours (depending on the desired detection limit)
  • Qualitative results (presence/absence): 8 hours
  • Quantitative results: 6 hours
  • Measuring range: 10–5,000 CFU
  • Sensitivity: detects microorganisms below 10 CFU in 8 hours
  • Required equipment: EnSure Touch luminometer
  • Storage conditions: 2–8 °C
  • Shelf life: 12 months refrigerated
