Product details

Medical applications: For measuring arterial hemoglobin oxygen saturation
General description:Oxygen saturation is the percentage of oxyhemoglobin (HbO2) in the blood. Many lung diseases, anesthesia, postoperative trauma or some medical examinations can cause a drop in blood oxygen. The fingertip pulse oximeter features low power consumption, easy operation and portability. For a reading, the patient simply inserts a finger into the pulse oximeter, over the photoelectric sensor, and the screen displays the oxygen saturation. Clinical studies have demonstrated the accuracy and repeatability of the measurements.
Measuring principle:A mathematical formula was established based on the Lambert-Beer law, in accordance with the infrared absorption characteristics of the hemoglobin spectrum. Operating principle: analysis of two low-intensity light beams with two wavelengths (660 nm and 905 nm). The light passes through the tissue and is analyzed by a photodetector. A red beam and an infrared beam are used, and the resulting measured signal is displayed on the screen.
Operating principle diagram:1. Red and infrared emitter2. Red and infrared receiver
Intended use:The fingertip pulse oximeter is a portable, noninvasive instrument for measuring arterial hemoglobin oxygen saturation (SpO2) and pulse rate in adults and children, for use at home, in hospitals, internal medicine wards, surgery, ICU, etc. It is not intended for continuous monitoring.
Precautions for use:1. DO NOT use the pulse oximeter in an MRI or CT environment2. DO NOT use the pulse oximeter in situations where alarms are required. The device has no alarms3. Explosion hazard: Do not use the pulse oximeter in an explosive atmosphere.4. The pulse oximeter is intended only as an aid in patient assessment. It must be used together with other methods of examining clinical signs and symptoms.5. Periodically check the pulse oximeter sensor site to check the patient's circulation and skin sensitivity.6. DO NOT apply adhesive tape when applying the pulse oximeter sensor. It may cause incorrect readings.7. Read the manual carefully before use8. The equipment is NOT intended for continuous use.9. Prolonged use on a patient may require periodically changing the sensor site. Check the sensor site, skin integrity, circulation and placement at least every 4 hours.10. DO NOT autoclave or sterilize the sensor or device with ethylene oxide. DO NOT heat-sterilize in a dry heat sterilizer!11. Significant amounts of carboxyhemoglobin or methemoglobin in the blood may affect the reading12. Intravascular dyes may affect the measurements: methylene blue or indocyanine green.13. SpO2 measurements may be adversely affected by strong ambient lighting. If necessary, cover the sensor area with a surgical drape.14. Measurements may be affected by excessive patient movement15. High-frequency electrosurgical interference may cause inaccurate readings.16. Measurements may be affected by venous pulsations.17. The measurement is influenced by incorrect sensor placement, for example on the extremity of a limb on which a blood pressure cuff, an arterial catheter or an intravascular line is placed.18. Measurements are difficult to take if the patient is hypotensive, has severe vasoconstriction, severe anemia or is hypothermic.19. The measurement cannot be taken if the patient is in cardiac arrest or in shock.20. Nail polish or artificial nails may lead to false SpO2 results.
Product features:1. Easy to use2. Small size, lightweight3. Low power consumption; one set of AAA batteries provides up to 20 hours of operation4. Visual low-battery alarm, as low batteries could affect readings5. The device turns off automatically after 8 seconds if no signal is detected6. Requires no maintenance except battery replacement
Battery installation:1. Insert 2 AAA batteries into the battery compartment with the correct polarity.2. Slide the cover horizontally as indicated by the arrow,Note: Failure to observe the correct polarity or position of the batteries may damage the deviceRemove the batteries from the pulse oximeter when not in use for long periods.
Instructions for use:
1. Insert the 2 AAA batteries supplied into the battery compartment with the correct polarity, then close the cover2. Open the clip and insert a finger into the rubber-padded area of the pulse oximeter with the fingernail facing up (toward the screen). It is best to let the finger touch the bottom before releasing the clip.3. Press the button on the front of the pulse oximeter.4. Do not move the fingertip once the test begins. Try not to move your body.5. Read the information on the screen.6. When the finger is removed, the screen displays: “Finger out”, then, after 8 seconds, the pulse oximeter turns off.
