Product details
Name: Fingertip Pulse Oximeter, 1 pc
Medical applications: For measuring the oxygen saturation of arterial hemoglobin
General description:
Oxygen saturation is the percentage of oxyhemoglobin (HbO2) in the blood. Many lung diseases, anesthesia, postoperative trauma or some medical examinations can cause a drop in blood oxygen. The fingertip pulse oximeter is characterized by low power consumption, easy operation and portability.
For diagnosis, the patient simply inserts a finger into the pulse oximeter, over the photoelectric sensor, and the display will show the oxygen saturation. Clinical studies have demonstrated the accuracy and repeatability of the measurements.
Measuring principle:
A mathematical formula was established based on the Lambert-Beer law in accordance with the infrared absorption characteristics of the hemoglobin spectrum. Operating principle: analysis of two low-intensity light beams with two wavelengths (660nm and 905nm). The light passes through the tissues and is analyzed by a photodetector. A red beam and an infrared beam are used, and the measured signal obtained is shown on the display.
Operating principle diagram:
1. Red and infrared emitter
2. Red and infrared receiver
Intended use:
The fingertip pulse oximeter is a portable, non-invasive instrument for measuring arterial hemoglobin oxygen saturation (SpO2) and pulse rate in adults and children, for use at home, in hospitals, internal medicine wards, surgery, ICU, etc. It is not intended for continuous monitoring.
Precautions for use:
1. DO NOT use the pulse oximeter in an MRI or CT environment
2. DO NOT use the pulse oximeter in situations where alarms are required. The device has no alarms
3. Explosion hazard: Do not use the pulse oximeter in an explosive atmosphere.
4. The pulse oximeter is intended only as an aid in patient assessment. It must be used together with other methods of examining clinical signs and symptoms.
5. Periodically check the pulse oximeter sensor site to check the patient's circulation and skin sensitivity.
6. DO NOT apply adhesive tape when applying the pulse oximeter sensor. This may cause erroneous readings.
7. Read the manual carefully before use
8. The equipment is NOT intended for continuous use.
9. Prolonged use on a patient may require periodic changing of the sensor site. Check the sensor site, skin integrity, circulation and placement at least every 4 hours.
10. DO NOT autoclave or sterilize the sensor or the device with ethylene oxide. DO NOT heat-sterilize in a dry-heat sterilizer!
11. Significant amounts of carboxyhemoglobin or methemoglobin in the blood may affect the reading
12. Intravascular dyes may affect measurements: methylene blue or indocyanine green.
13. SpO2 measurements may be adversely affected by strong ambient lighting. If necessary, cover the sensor area with a surgical drape.
14. Measurements may be affected by excessive patient movement
15. High-frequency electrosurgical interference may cause inaccurate readings.
16. Measurements may be affected by venous pulsations.
17. The measurement is influenced by incorrect sensor placement, for example on the extremity of a limb fitted with a blood pressure cuff, an arterial catheter or an intravascular line.
18. Measurements are difficult to perform if the patient is hypotensive, has severe vasoconstriction, severe anemia or is hypothermic.
19. The measurement cannot be performed if the patient is in cardiac arrest or in shock.
20. Nail polish or artificial nails may lead to false SpO2 results.
Product properties:
1. Easy to use
2. Compact and lightweight
3. Low power consumption; one set of AAA batteries provides up to 20 hours of operation
4. Visual low-battery alarm, as low batteries could affect readings
5. The device turns off automatically within 8 seconds if no signal is detected
6. No maintenance required, except for battery replacement
Battery installation:
1. Insert 2 AAA batteries into the battery compartment with the correct polarity.
2. Slide the cover horizontally as shown by the arrow.
Note: Failure to observe the correct polarity or position of the batteries may damage the device
Remove the batteries from the pulse oximeter when not in use for long periods.
Instructions for use:
1. Insert the 2 AAA batteries supplied into the battery compartment with the correct polarity, then close the cover
2. Open the clip and insert a finger into the rubberized area of the pulse oximeter with the nail facing up (toward the display). It is best to let the finger touch the bottom before releasing the clip.
3. Press the button on the front of the pulse oximeter.
4. Do not move your fingertip when the test starts. Try not to move your body.
5. Read the information on the display.
6. When the finger is removed, the display will show: “Finger out”, then, after 8 seconds, the pulse oximeter turns off.

Battery life: 2 AAA 1.5V alkaline batteries, 600 mAh
Can operate up to 20 hours continuously
Storage and maintenance:
Replace the batteries when the battery icon flashes.
Wipe the surface of the pulse oximeter before using it on patients.
Remove the batteries from the housing if the pulse oximeter will not be used for an extended period.
The product can be stored (without batteries) at temperatures between -10-40⁰C and humidity of 15%-80%, non-condensing.
It is recommended to store the product in a dry place. A humid environment may lead to premature failure of the product.
Wipe the inside of the pulse oximeter with a soft cloth dampened with 70% isopropyl alcohol. Wipe the finger area before and after each use.
Do not pour or spray any liquids onto the pulse oximeter.
Do not allow any liquids to enter the device.
Allow the pulse oximeter to dry completely before reuse.
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of the product complies with standard IEC60601-1-1-2
Measurement performance under low perfusion conditions: the pulse is detected correctly when the waveform is at least 0.4%
