The PRIMA 3-way urethral Foley catheter is a single-use urinary catheter made of siliconized latex, designed for urine drainage and bladder irrigation in adults. Available in five sizes (CH16–CH24), with an atraumatic cylindrical tip and a 25–30 ml balloon, the catheter is ethylene oxide sterilized and supplied in packs of 10 pcs.

Functionality

The catheter has three functionally distinct channels: urine drainage, balloon inflation/deflation and bladder irrigation. The balloon holds the catheter in position, while the additional channel allows fluids to pass for irrigation.

Directions for use

• Generously lubricate the tip and shaft of the catheter with a water-soluble lubricant; do not use ointments or petroleum-based lubricants.

• Carefully insert the tip through the urethra into the bladder; urine flow usually indicates placement in the bladder, after which advance approximately 3 cm further to position the balloon.

• Inflate the balloon with a syringe, using the recommended volume indicated on the catheter funnel.

• To deflate, use a needleless syringe inserted into the valve or cut the inflation funnel above the valve, according to the product instructions.

• The catheter must not remain in the human body for more than 14 days.

• Use in accordance with the instructions for use and the procedures applicable in the medical facility.
