Why is it important to detect Atrial Fibrillation?

Atrial fibrillation is a heart rhythm disorder which, if untreated, can lead to reduced blood flow. Reduced blood flow can cause clots to form in some vital organs. Atrial fibrillation is responsible for 20% of stroke cases. Stroke is the third leading cause of death, the main cause of disability and the second major cause of dementia in the healthy population. If atrial fibrillation is detected during a blood pressure measurement, the device signals the arrhythmia by displaying the AFIB symbol.

IMPORTANT:

The symbol will only be displayed if all 3 measurements detect atrial fibrillation. Measurement in single mode does not allow detection of atrial fibrillation. AFIB technology has obtained important clinical validations thanks to its high accuracy. It detects atrial fibrillation with high sensitivity (97-100%), as demonstrated by two recent comparative studies.
