How to choose
- Contact or non-contact: non-contact thermometers measure on the forehead without touching the skin. Digital ones are used in contact, and their tip is disinfected before each use; the PRIMA product sheet gives 70% medical alcohol as an example.
- Time: 2–3 seconds for infrared models, 30 seconds for the MT700 and 60 seconds for the MT50.
- Measurement site: follow the instructions of each model. For ear thermometers, the PRIMA product sheet recommends comparing readings on the same ear, because the temperature of the two eardrums can differ slightly.
- Memory and data: the NC150 and NC 150 BT store 30 readings, and the NC 150 BT sends them via Bluetooth to the manufacturer’s app.
