Bowie & Dick Test for Autoclave Testing (1 set)

Used in steam autoclaves for Bowie and Dick programs to test steam penetration in sterilizers with dynamic air removal. Place it in the autoclave and start the unit. The test is blue and is wrapped in paper (placed in the middle). If sterilization takes place, the test changes color from blue to dark green during the diffusion phase of a sterilization cycle. If sterilization is incomplete, it remains blue. The test provides visible confirmation of the detection of residual air (it is placed between sheets of paper so you can see how well sterilization penetrates to the test), following daily monitoring for 3.5 minutes at 134°-137°C. 
Material: crepe paper placed between sheets of paper. 
Must not come into contact with liquid.

The color change must be checked against the sheet on the back of the package to show whether the parameters have been reached. The indicator ink changes color from blue to dark green to black. The sterilization indicator ink used for printing contains the following components in ppm levels.

• Water 35% (CAS # 7732-18-5);

• Diacetone alcohol 3% (CAS # 123-42-2);

• Proprietary mixture 62% (CAS # N/A).

Does not contain substances classified as hazardous in concentrations that would need to be taken into account under EC directives.

Color: blue.
