Instructions for use:
• Storage: Use suitable hanging systems to store the products. Under no circumstances should the garments be folded or draped over edges, or placed in the immediate vicinity of heat sources. Avoid storage in a warm, humid environment.
• Use: Check the products for visible damage before each use. Make sure the garment size is appropriate to provide uncompromised protection.
• Cleaning and disinfection: Use a soft cloth and warm water, adding soap if necessary. Let the garments air-dry at room temperature. Do not soak the garments in water. NEVER machine-wash the garments and do not use bleaching agents. Use e.g. Terralin, Antisept, Wofasept or other suitable non-phenolic and non-aldehyde agents to disinfect the garments if necessary. Always clean the garments with clean water after disinfection.
• Inspection: Protective garments should be examined under X-ray at least every 12 months to check for cracks and holes in the shielding layer that could compromise X-ray protection. Always examine the garments under X-ray if you have any doubts about the integrity of the shielding layer.
• Service life and disposal: Depending on use and care, the service life of X-ray protective garments can vary enormously. Never use garments that show obvious signs of damage or holes or cracks under X-ray. Check local regulations for the safe and legal disposal of X-ray protective garments.
• The label on each RADPROM product shows the type, size, lead equivalent, date of manufacture and serial number. This ensures that each item can be traced in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
• When should radiation protection equipment be replaced? Protective garments should be replaced if they are physically damaged, have tears or holes in the material (the problem can be identified by simple observation or by radiation testing), or if the protective material has hardened due to migration of lead particles (uneven thickness will be noticed in the upper or lower part of the item).
