Epoxidin is an epoxy root canal sealer made of two pastes (white and yellow) that are mixed in equal proportions. Intended for filling and sealing root canals in endodontic treatments, it offers controlled plasticity and progressive setting in the intracanal environment.

Technical specifications

  • Composition: epoxy resin, amines, hardening agents, zirconium oxide (radiopaque filler), calcium oxide (plasticizing agent)
  • Film thickness after mixing: 5–10 µm
  • Plasticity at room temperature: 4 hours
  • Setting time in the canal: 24 hours
  • Final material: bioinert amine resin
  • Adhesion: good
  • Solubility: slight
  • Operating temperature range: 32–42 °C (in the oral cavity: 36–38 °C)
  • Working humidity: 60–90 %

Applications

  • Filling and sealing of root canals
  • Use with gutta-percha points
  • Endodontic treatments in aggressive biological environments

Directions for use

  • Mix the two pastes in equal proportions
  • Plastic mixture, easy to apply on gutta-percha points
  • The material sets progressively in the root canal over 24 hours

Warnings

  • Overfilling (extrusion) does not cause major complications, but may cause discomfort in the treated tooth
