PRIMA polyglycolic acid surgical suture is a synthetic braided multifilament material intended for soft tissue closure and ligation in a variety of surgical procedures. The product is sold in packs of 12 sterile pieces, each 150 cm long with a USP 2/0 diameter, dyed violet for increased visibility.

  • Material: 100% polyglycolic acid, synthetic, braided multifilament

  • Coating: Polycaprolactone and calcium stearate
  • Sterilization: Ethylene oxide gas
  • Strength at 14 days: approximately 82% of initial strength
  • Strength at 21 days: approximately 56% of initial strength
  • Strength at 28 days: approximately 20% of initial strength
  • Complete absorption time: approximately 90 days
  • Tissue reaction: Non-antigenic and non-pyrogenic

  • Healthcare professionals must be properly trained in the use of these sutures
  • Avoid prolonged contact with saline solutions
  • Follow appropriate surgical practices to prevent infection
  • Dispose of used needles in "Sharps" containers

Storage and handling

  • Store below 30°C
  • Protect from moisture and direct sunlight
  • Do not use after the expiration date
  • Avoid damage from improper handling
