PRIMA absorbable polyglycolic acid (PGA) surgical suture is intended for use in veterinary surgery for suturing and ligating soft tissue. The violet synthetic multifilament thread comes with a Tapercut needle and provides complete absorption through natural physiological processes.

Technical specifications

  • Material: polyglycolic acid, braided multifilament, violet, coated with polycaprolactone and calcium stearate

  • Thread length: 75 cm

  • Thread size: USP 2/0

  • Needle type: Tapercut, 1/2 circle, 30 mm long, permanently attached to the thread

  • Tensile strength: approximately 50% of the initial strength is retained for up to 15-18 days post-implantation

  • Absorption: complete, by hydrolysis, within 50-90 days, with minimal tissue reaction

  • Sterility: each suture individually packed in a sterile pouch, single use

Applications

Intended exclusively for veterinary surgery, according to the protocol established by the veterinarian.
