- Sterilization is indicated by the color change on the indicator from green to dark brown/black after exposure to dry heat sterilization
- Sterilization is carried out at 160˚/ 120 min, 170˚/ 60 min, in accordance with the Medical Device sterilization standard SR EN ISO 20857:2013
- The lines are diagonal, with 11mm spacing between them and a diagonal line thickness of 3mm.
- The sterilization indicator tapes are versatile and adhere to any type of packaging.
WARNING! All instruments MUST be able to withstand the sterilization process to which they are subjected. Check the sterilization instructions provided by each instrument manufacturer.
Directions for use:
1. Carefully clean and rinse the instruments to be sterilized.
2. Allow the instruments to dry completely.
3. Place the instruments in the sterilization pouches and seal.
4. Apply the adhesive sterilization indicator by wrapping it across the entire width of the sterilization package/pouch, making sure the folded edge and sides are completely sealed, with no gaps.
5. The sterilization indicator must not be applied to sterilization boxes or working instruments.
Since sterilization only begins once the entire contents of the unit have reached the working temperature, the actual sterilization cycle may last 2 hours at 160 degrees or 1 hour at 170 degrees, from the moment the required temperature threshold is reached. A temperature of 160 degrees is recommended for sterilizing metal and sharp instruments, and 170 degrees for cotton and paper items (this limit must not be exceeded, as these items may undergo carbonization and irreversible damage).
Once the cycle is complete, the temperature must drop slowly, and the unit door should only be opened when the indicated temperature is below 50 degrees Celsius
Storage: Store in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
Batch number: printed on the packaging.
WARNING!!!
Do not place wet instruments or water in the pouch. Moisture on the instruments, pouch or sterilization indicator will inevitably cause the packaging to burst and burn and the sterilization indicator to carbonize! Instruments must be dried before sterilization, as moisture will affect the process.
The optimal time and temperature for dry heat sterilization are 160°C (320°F) for 2 hours, 170°C (340°F) for 1 hour. Do not use a temperature higher than 170°C (340°F), even if you reduce the sterilization time. The immediate effect is the destruction of the sterilized items, the packaging and the sterilization indicator.
