MicroSnap E.coli is a rapid test for the detection and enumeration of Escherichia coli, based on a bioluminogenic reaction.

The test measures the enzymatic activity of E. coli and provides quantitative or qualitative results within the same working day. It is used with the EnSure Touch luminometer.

Technical specifications

  • Principle: bioluminogenic reaction between enzymes produced by E. coli and specific substrates
  • Time to results: less than 8 hours (qualitative presence/absence results), 6 hours for quantitative results
  • Measuring range: 10–5,000 CFU
  • Sensitivity: detects microorganisms below 10 CFU in 8 hours
  • Reading device: EnSure Touch luminometer

Applications

  • Detection and enumeration of Escherichia coli
  • On-site testing, reducing the need to send samples to an external laboratory
  • Measurement comparable to traditional methods

Directions for use

  • The bioluminogenic reaction produces light according to the E. coli concentration in the sample
  • The amount of light is measured with the EnSure Touch luminometer
  • Avoids the need for multiple dilutions and complex sample preparation

Storage conditions

  • Shelf life: 12 months
  • Storage temperature: 2–8°C
