Sterile absorbable sutures in violet polyglycolic acid (PGA) and one polyglactin 910 suture, in USP sizes from 6/0 to 3. They come with round, Tapercut or cutting needles, 1/2 or 3/8 circle, with needle lengths from 13 to 40 mm, or without a needle as a 150 cm thread. Sutures start from 61.71 lei.

Some names also carry needle codes, for example RB on round needles and RC on triangular ones. The same size often comes with several needles: for 2/0, for example, a 20 or 30 mm round needle and a 30 mm Tapercut needle.

Thread and packaging

Threads with a needle are usually 75 cm long; the 3/0 thread with a 30 mm round needle also comes in a 70 cm version, and three threads are 90 cm long: two with 40 mm needles and one with a 26 mm needle. The polyglactin 910 thread is multifilament. Most product names state a box of 12; the exact quantity is given in the title or description of each product.

Three sutures are marked for veterinary use: 3/0 with a 30 mm 1/2 Tapercut needle, 2/0 with a 30 mm 1/2 round needle and 2/0 without a needle, 150 cm. They are also polyglycolic acid, 12 per box.

Non-absorbable silk and polyamide sutures are under non-absorbable sutures. Needle holders, forceps and suture scissors are under needles, thread and surgical instruments.

Which are the finest and the thickest sutures in this category?
